I would've loved you to have seen it and heard your thoughts on the subject.

http://www.channel4.com/culture/microsites/C/can_you_believe_it/debates/rootofevil.html

You know, for me, my own spirituality has nothing to do with the existence of an all-encompassing power in the heavens. It has more to do with a personal honesty and truth with myself. Something I am comfortable with. It is about my values and beliefs, my dreams and aspirations, my love of people, nature and the earth. It is about recognising and valuing the beauty of mankind. I don't need the non-evidenced teachings of a story, like most people I've arrived at this place through my own experience of life.

In some ways we are similar. There are times I wonder if I'm missing something important. There are times I feel an emptiness but I'm not so sure that the feeling has more to do with my time of life and the urgency to make the most of the time that is left.

I could talk about this subject for hours, alas here in the UK the call of dreams draws ever closer. By the way Lisa, as far as promotion is concerned, you know I'll just go for it!

Annie xAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4283072392763163737.post-70017403417679125762006-01-20T15:32:00.000-08:002006-01-20T15:32:00.000-08:00Have you ever tried attending a Unitarian Church? ...Have you ever tried attending a Unitarian Church? I think you would find that you fit in well there. They do not have a particular creed to which you must adhere, nothing that you "must" believe. Unitarians tend to be liberal both in their religion and politics. They are supportive of "seekers" of all kinds. I think you could find the community you are looking for while avoiding the dogma and fundamentalism that so many churches seem to push. Good luck in your search! StacyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
