I have to tell you, when I read here, I feel as though I am conversing with a very bright, clever woman, someone I would enjoy listening to and watching over a nice hot cup of tea.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4283072392763163737.post-34229113600648586382006-04-07T04:13:00.000-07:002006-04-07T04:13:00.000-07:00Me, too!And maybe someday we will actually get to ...Me, too!

And maybe someday we will actually get to converse over that cup of coffee because it looks like dd is headed back to college in Oregon!

A few weeks ago I heard Kathleen Norris speak. You put far too much of yourself into your writing not to derive a certain amount of joy from it. I hope though that you will one day be published because I think you are a far better writer than I am and I hope one day to be published.

About that novel... You might want to think about giving it a try next November. That is national novel writing month. The concept is a great one, basically to just write 50,000 words of a novel in the month of November. You're not supposed to edit or try to make it perfect you're just supposed to write. Editing can come later once you got something TO edit. I did it my first time last year and really enjoyed it. You can find more info here: http://www.nanowrimo.org/ you don't have to do it 'officially' either. I didn't. I just did it for me and shared it with anybody here who was interested. Not many were but that really didn't discourage me.

Thanks for this entry. Your writing is good and this reader at least appreciates it. Keep up the good work. Hope you also give that novel a shot one day...soon.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4283072392763163737.post-5971291260530175152006-04-07T18:47:00.000-07:002006-04-07T18:47:00.000-07:00Like everyone else, I feel lucky to be the recipie...Like everyone else, I feel lucky to be the recipient of your honed craft and indeed fortunate to have discovered the blog world. Did you ever hit the nail on the head with this one. When I got that very first reader, everything changed. I began to do more than just edit for grammar, etc. I second guessed everything I wrote about, and how I wrote about it. After a while I began to simmer down, but I still censor myself much more, knowing that my words reflect on me.
As I have told you before, I love your style of writing. And isn't nice to know that there are other folks out there who tune in, because they enjoy it, too? tina Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4283072392763163737.post-23954617850822867272006-04-10T02:41:00.000-07:002006-04-10T02:41:00.000-07:00It is amazing how much the writing has evolved in ...It is amazing how much the writing has evolved in this community. I began looking for details about an Amtrak ride Bridget and I took six years ago....and my writing in the journal was awful!!! Totally devoid of what I was looking for. If anything, this experience has caused me to look at the world in a different way and my writing has evolved. I do remember the 2500 word limit and how I would cuss as I edited out the unnecessary!! That was tough.

Great entry!!!!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
