Weekend Recap

Mission accomplished.  Cafe de la Rue's premier appearance at the Newport Wine and Seafood Festival  is in the can.

All went well.  Van didn't crap out on the trip out or back.  Business level was adequate to good, despite the relative blood alcohol levels of the patrons.  Enough people fought their way back through the crowds to rave about the food, giving me hope that this business IS going to go somewhere, someday.  Today I am worn out, eternally grateful to the wonderful husband (who willingly becomes the other half of the partership even though he has a perfectly good job of his own....), and ready to take on the rest of the season.

  2. I couldn't have handled that crowd.  I'd have been a panic attack basket case.  Glad the weekend went well, and I hope the rest of the season is great.

  3. Wow. Kudos to you. Doing shows is tough work. Your husband is a gem allright. I'v done a few Flea markets to sell my junk and all that packing and unpacking is tough. But meeting new people and seeing new places is a lot of fun. And a commraderie develops amoung the sho' folk is great, too.

  4. I can just imagine how hard you work to set up that beautiful booth, serve customers through the festival, and then tear the whole thing back down again.  I hope that your good response this past weekend is just the beginning of a very successful season for you.

  5. Very nice booth!  Glad to hear it was fairly successful for the beginning of the season, and that hubs helped you.  I know that's a lot of work.  How about a close up of the menu?  Lisa
