AOL News Reports:
Cheneys Angered by Kerry Mention of Daughter
Should Family be Off Limits?
Oh, absolutely. As long as it’s the family of the incumbents. And as long as the incumbents are Republicans.
Is anybody else REALLY ready to vote and get this mess over with?
You and me both.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready and I'm worried. I'm hoping people are really looking at the world around us and realizing change is necessary now.
ReplyDeleteYes, please.
ReplyDeleteI'm ready....I've had enough.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe there is so much hoopla over this remark! I'll be glad when the republicans are out of there!
ReplyDeleteThis made me GAG.
ReplyDeleteI have my absentee ballot all fired up and ready to go... :)
ReplyDeleteThis is just ridiculous. I don't pretend to know Kerry's motives for mentioning the daughter. Edwards did too. But, I'd like to think they are trying in a subtle way to reveal the hypocrasy of the administration. However, I think they are just trying to put a face to an issue. And, what better face than a skeleton. :-) ---Robbie
ReplyDeleteIf she is openly gay, then I say yes, Kerry has all the right in the world to compare/contrast Bush/Cheney’s ideology about gays. It illustrates how Cheney is either lying about what he thinks is right for gays or it shows that he is willing to sacrifice his daughter for his ideology. I am sure he is a hypocrite, because he must be telling his daughter one thing and spouting off another, if not, why does his daughter tolerate him?
ReplyDeleteThen again, she may be hegemonic as well. I use to think if a person was gay, they automatically understood oppression, however I am seeing differently lately. For one, the Log Cabin Republicans. Even though they recently backed out of supporting Bush they are still Republicans, -------------that is insane.
In addition, I have a lesbian professor. I am amazed at some of her antics at times. It is beyond speaking out, but down right hypocritical, plus she has the thinnest skin I have ever seen. For one, I do not believe lesbians should imitate men (not appearances, but behaviors), period. Androgyny/Neutrality yes, it is okay, but to become the dominator, that is just counterproductive. That means they are just replacing the oppressor with an oppressor. I wonder if Cheney’s daughter loves dominance as well.
Yes indeed I am!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait until the election is over! Enough of the mudslinging already!

Hmn? I really cant remeber Bush or Cheney saying anything about the Gore kids or the Kerry or Edwards kids.Good bad or indifferent. I really do not remember any other canidate Republican or Demorcrat bring up an offspring of an opponiate. The remark really didnt offend me much but I do think it shows a little about Edwards, who brought it up first, and Kerry who brought it up again. I belive you have to have to little bit of bully in you to bring up a daughter who is not running for anything. Search your heart and ask if it had been Bush that had brought up a gay child of Edwards if you would have though it was a cheap shot? I feel that you would think it was a cheap shot. Again gays dont bother me. But I think the intent of what Kerry and Edwards did screams that, if it serves thier purpose, they dont give a rats behind about using a gay to make a point.
ReplyDeleteNaaaa... I'm not ready for the election. The buildup is just now getting fun. lol
ReplyDeleteI am not sure what was the big deal with the comment, but I didn't hear the entire thing in context. It was just a silly thing from what I did gather.. Not like he said anything offensive about her!
